Reading the mechanic
Gemix states its cluster rule explicitly: five or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically on a seven-by-seven grid. Diagonal contact is not included in that description. Winning symbols leave the grid and new symbols fall in until no further combination is formed. [1]
Wins charge a crystal meter. When it is full and the cascade sequence ends, one of several effects changes or removes symbols. Additional wins before the sequence ends can produce the documented Super Charge, which is a different condition from merely filling the meter. [1]
The world system overlays patterns on positions. Winning at those positions clears a pattern; completing three patterns advances the world. World-specific wild behaviours also differ. This makes Gemix a useful example of a game where “progress” can mean a cluster award, meter charge or pattern completion, each with its own rule. [1]
Take it to the paytable
- Trace a small example cluster on the rule diagram using only horizontal and vertical contact. Diagonal symbols alone do not satisfy the documented connection rule.
- Find when the crystal effect activates relative to the end of a cascade sequence. A full meter is a trigger state with a timing rule.
- Compare the wild descriptions for the different worlds. A sticky wild in one world does not establish that every world’s wild behaves the same way.
