Why an RTP figure needs a configuration

A title identifies a work. It does not always identify the complete mathematical instance.

A name is only the first identifier

A reference should distinguish title, edition, mathematical configuration and the instance supplied by an operator. These are separate questions even when the branding is similar. A provider catalogue page is strong evidence of what that page describes, but it is not automatically a record of every deployment.

When a supplier makes more than one configuration available, a bare percentage cannot tell you which instance it belongs to. We have not established a configuration matrix for the twenty entries in this edition, so we publish no list of supposed high and low settings.

What a publishable record needs

Our editorial threshold requires a source that ties the percentage to the exact game version or configuration. If the claim is about an operator, the record also needs the operator instance, market, relevant mode and check date. A generic provider relationship cannot fill those gaps.

Record a displayed statement as a displayed statement. A marketing page and the game’s own help can have different scopes; a discrepancy requires investigation rather than picking the more attractive number. The Great Britain remote standards are useful reading on accessible rules and likelihood information, but they do not establish worldwide requirements.

Do not invent the missing reason

Different design specifications can produce different expected returns. Without supplier documentation we cannot say why a particular version exists, who selected it, or whether a particular operator changed it. We do not attribute an undocumented setting to tax, regulation or a player’s history.

The practical reading method is simple: retain the exact title, open the applicable help, capture the configuration context and date, then compare like with like. If the necessary identifier is absent, say that the comparison cannot yet be made.
